Early Years Educator/Practitioner

 

High Halstow Pre-school – Medway ME3 8TF

We are a private pre-school based in the small village of High Halstow a 15-minute drive from Rochester. Our setting is within the grounds of the primary school and we offer a secure, safe and stimulating environment inside as well as in our extensive garden, for children from 2 years to 5 years old.

We are looking for practitioners with a level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare, to join our Pre-school. There are two positions available, a full-time position of 35 hours and a part-time position of 21 hours.   

The full position would be 35 Hours a week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm

Part-time position would be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am - 4pm

 

 

General description of the role:

To provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting. To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.

 

To help to set up the playroom(s)/ outside areas for the daily program and to help tidy away at the end of the session ensuring that everything is set out in an inviting way for the next session.

 

To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met and work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.

 

To know and teach children to a high standard and ensuring that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.

 

To support meal/snack times within the setting.

To actively participate at team meetings, supervision/appraisal meetings and attend training courses as required.

 

To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, e.g., health and safety, fire precautions, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc.

 

 

Are you passionate and confident working with children? The successful person will have good communication skills both written and verbal and possess a sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and child development.

Position:

Permanent Part-time up 21 hours per week during term time
